A reusable gesture input engine proven in a fully playable game. The theremin demo is free marketing. Every musician who shares it is a salesperson who doesn't work for you.

The One Bet First

Creative tools and viral content. This is the one project in the suite where a single 30-second TikTok of the theremin demo can do more for distribution than months of cold outreach. Post the video. See what happens. The accessibility and industrial plays require patience and relationships. The creative community will adopt it immediately if the demo lands.

Strategy A — Creative Tools & Live Performance

Target: musicians, VJs, live performers, digital artists · Why: early adopters who talk loudly, share online constantly, and understand immediately what "control reverb with your left hand" means

Post the theremin demo on TikTok / Instagram Reels / YouTube Shorts. "I built a theremin that runs in a browser using your webcam." Inherently visual, shareable, surprising. No explanation needed — you see it and you want to try it.

Music tech communities: KVR Audio, Gearspace, r/synthesizers, r/edmproduction. Post "I built a browser-based gesture controller — looking for feedback from musicians." Give it away free. They will instrument it, break it, and tell you what it needs.

MIDI bridge as the product unlock. Add MIDI output (Web MIDI API, already browser-supported) and the system controls any DAW, any hardware synth, any software instrument. That's not a demo any more — that's a professional tool.

Artist collaborations. Find 3–5 artists doing live AV performance. Offer the tool free in exchange for being credited in a live show or video. "Gestures by GestureMapper" in the artist's show notes.

Strategy B — npm Package + Developer Community

Target: front-end developers, creative coders, indie game developers, web XR builders · Distribution: npm, GitHub, dev.to

npm install gesture-engine — one line to import, three lines to bind a gesture to a callback. TypeScript types, framework-agnostic. That's the product for developers.

CodePen / StackBlitz demos. "Gesture-controlled slider", "pinch to zoom image", "wave to start audio." Developers copy examples. If the examples are good, adoption is organic.

Tutorial content: "I built a gesture-controlled theremin in 50 lines of JavaScript." Tutorial-style content on dev.to, Hashnode, CSS-Tricks drives developer discovery far better than product pages. Write 6 tutorials across different use cases.

Hackathon sponsorship. Sponsor MLH events. Offer API credits and prizes for best gesture-controlled project. Winning project = demo video + community members.

Strategy C — Accessibility & Assistive Technology

Target: motor-impaired users, occupational therapists, AT specialists · Why: browser-native gesture with no hardware is genuinely new in this space

OS-level mouse control first. The accessibility unlock is replacing the mouse cursor: gesture → screen cursor position → OS mouse events. Achievable with a small native bridge (Python + pyautogui, or Electron).

Partner with AT organisations: AbilityNet (UK), AbleNet (US), ATia (Assistive Technology Industry Association). These orgs certify tools, run conferences, and connect you with OTs who prescribe AT for their clients.

NDIS / NHS reimbursement path. If classified as AT for daily living tasks, it may be reimbursable. This removes price sensitivity entirely — the price is whatever the funding body covers.

Strategy D — Retail Kiosks & Industrial

Target: retail chains, museums, QSRs, surgical teams, clean-room workers · Why: touchscreen hygiene + hands-busy environments are a real, unsolved problem

The pitch: "Your kiosk, but touchless. Customers wave or gesture to navigate — no screen contact, no cleaning between users." Target facilities managers or innovation directors, not IT procurement.

2–3 proof of concept installations. A museum exhibit ("explore this display with your hands"), a hotel lobby info terminal, a restaurant menu browser. These become case study photos and videos.

White-label the UI. The gesture mapper's configurable binding system means you can skin and configure it per venue. "Swipe right → next product category" is one JSON config file.

Pricing: $49/month/device SaaS including updates. $199 setup + $29/month hardware bundle. Enterprise (50+ devices) custom.
