Tradez Pay — Embedded Payments for Tradies
Every Australian tradie gets a website + an omnipresent pay button (web + QR sticker + SMS) powered by Pinch Managed Merchants. Money settles to the tradie's bank; we earn a platform fee.
Tradez Pay turns a one-off website business into a recurring payments-revenue business. au) and given each one a 'Pay Now' button. For the Pinch $50k hackathon, we're making every tradie a Pinch Managed Merchant (payfac-as-a-service) — so payments on their site settle to THEIR bank account, not ours, while we take a small platform cut via applicationFee.
The novelty is the 'omnipresent pay button': the same Pinch Payment Link URL, reachable three ways. (1) On the website — a Pay Now button auto-injected by our Cloudflare Worker. (2) As a printed QR code — a sticker for the back of the ute, a card for the invoice folder, a stand for the reception desk. The customer scans with their phone camera and pays in seconds. No app, no terminal, no hardware.
(3) Via SMS — the tradie texts a payment link from their dashboard; the customer taps, pays, and gets an SMS receipt back automatically. We also ship 'Tradez Text', a compliant SMS receipt + payment-request service built on httpSMS with a real SIM — which makes us exempt from the ACMA SMS Sender ID Register that went live 1 July 2026 (it only applies to alphanumeric sender IDs). The QR is the wedge; the platform is the prize.
Once we have 500+ tradies as Pinch Managed Merchants, we own the distribution and can add tap-to-pay as a feature flip. Year-1 goal: 500 tradies, ~$2M GMV, ~$75k/month platform fee revenue at scale.
